Glenn Beck recently announced that there is an active mission to bring Americans back home who are stuck in Israel amid the war between the Jewish state and Hamas. The effort is spearheaded by The Nazarene Fund, an organization that aims to “rescue, rebuild, and restore” Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities around the world.
The announcement was made Friday afternoon on Instagram, where Beck said that the first plane to rescue Americans from the area is set to leave over the weekend.
“I have some really good news,” Beck said in the video. “We have been working on this for a few days, but as you can imagine, it’s a little difficult with a war going on. But our first flight to bring the Americans home from Israel is going to be leaving this weekend.”
“I can’t give you any [more] details on this. We just want to keep everybody safe and everything calm. If you have a family member that needs to come home from Israel, they’re stranded and they can’t get out, please just contact us.”
Beck noted the best way to contact The Nazarene Fund about the effort is to email IsraelToAmerica@protonmail.com, noting that more information can be found at TheNazareneFund.com or MercuryOne.com.
“Again, our first flight is leaving this weekend,” Beck added. “This will not be the last flight. We are going to try to get everybody out that needs to get out. If we want our government to do less, I guess we have to do more.”
Blaze News reported on Thursday that a fellow employee, Ashton DeGroot, shared that her husband and brother-in-law had been stuck inside Israel. While it was unclear how the two were going to make it out of the Jewish state amid the conflict, the U.S. government eventually announced a plan to get Americans out of harm’s way.
DeGroot provided Blaze News with a copy of the email that was sent to her husband from the State Department, which said: “We are writing to update you on U.S. government assistance to depart Israel. We plan to offer transit options beginning on Friday, October 13, but it will take some period of time to schedule everyone seeking to depart.”
“If you choose to take this departure assistance, transportation will be by air to Athens or Frankfurt, or sea from Haifa to Cyprus. You will not be able to choose your destination – we will assign you to the next available flight or ship,” the email added.
“You will be asked to sign an agreement to repay the U.S. government prior to departure. You should be prepared to arrange your own lodging and onward travel from Greece, Germany or Cyprus to your final destination,” the email concluded.
U.S. Congressman Cory Mills took to social media to express his discontent with the time it had taken President Joe Biden’s administration to make a decision about how to logistically get Americans out of danger.
Mills posted: “If Biden and his administration won’t prioritize American lives then I will step up and do his job for him! 77 Americans in 2 days safe and no longer trapped in Israel while Biden thinks of a plan. Politician Talk and Statesmen Act! This is the second country (Afghanistan 2021 & Israel 2023) we’ve had to save Americans because Biden had no plan and No leadership! This never happened under President Trump!”
“Since Hamas’ indiscriminate attack on Israel Saturday morning, our offices have received harrowing reports from constituents who remain in Israel and are seeking to return to the United States as soon as possible,” a letter read, dated October 10, addressed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and signed by a group of 100 bipartisan lawmakers.
They went on to urge “the State Department to use all resources at its disposal, including charter flights, to help those Americans that remain in Israel and wish to return to the United States.”
While it is not clear how many flights The Nazarene Fund will be sending overseas to rescue Americans, Beck made it clear that the first flight would not be the last one. There is also no information available on how many Americans have contacted the fund about returning home.
