Congressman Jim Banks is back on Twitter after he deleted a tweet that went against the platform’s Terms of Service.

On October 19, Banks tweeted about Dr. Rachel Levine, a transgender woman who recently became the first transgender four-star officer in the U.S. uniformed service.

“The title of first female four-star officer gets taken by a man,” he tweeted. On October 23, Twitter removed the tweet for violating a rule against “targeted misgendering.”

Banks deleted the tweet to gain access to his account but said he stands by what he said.
