Joe Biden is working as feverishly as he can on his part-time schedule to strike a deal on his $3.5 Trillion spending bill. He is still pushing Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to abandon their philosophy and the constituents they serve to commit to an AYE vote on his bill. Joe Biden needs a win badly. He wants that victory to come this week before he heads off to Europe and the G-20.
It does not look good at this point.
Biden is looking at this piece of legislation to be a part of his legacy. According to Democrats, the bill is a transformative work that will usher in a green era for prosperity for the American economy. Biden will not be going alone to Rome. He will be taking along 13 of his department secretaries. He wants to also take with them a signed bill to wave in front of the other leaders of the world that he, Joe Biden, is the man to bring America to a new era of thinking green.
There are 15 departments in the President’s Cabinet. I wonder which two secretaries were told to stay behind? Mayor Pete has to babysit, so he is probably one. With all the serious issues facing this country, none of them should be taking a trip on Air Force 1. The Border is bleeding and wide open. Covid is still haunting America, with more deaths in the nine months of 2021 than all of 2020. We have become energy dependent on OPEC and Russia, and inflation and gas prices are sucking any excess funds from the family till.
While the country is suffering from the Biden Decisions to date, Biden is more intent on making a show of power at the G-20 that the United States is ready to take the lead on the battle against Climate Change. Maybe those Americans that cannot afford to heat their homes this winter wish we could go back to Global Warming, but that was a sham. Keep in mind that as Biden and his Baker’s Dozen Secretary Troupe are working to convince the world how green we are, China will be at home.
China accounts for 27% of the Carbon Emissions on Earth, and they will not be a part of the plan to reduce the emissions. That seems to make any discussion a charade, for without China being onboard for the solution, any goal will never be reached.
So if not for actual results, what is the purpose of the Global Environmental Summit? Optics and approval ratings. Biden is banking on his team having the spotlight in Rome, getting favorable press of the event, and making headway with his core constituents. He needs to put the brakes on his skidding approval numbers and reverse the trend lines.
Americans will not be impressed even if Biden’s team hits it out of the park. They are concerned with the economy, inflation, gas and home heating fuel, and their kid’s school curriculum. Global Warming, Change, or whatever you want to call it is not even in the top five of American’s concerns. While Joe and his gang of wokes are eating pasta and drinking wine in Rome, China will keep working on their military, building their economy and destroying ours, and becoming the only superpower on Earth. Somebody, please fill Joe’s wine glass.
