NewsBusters Podcast: CNN Invents Racism of ‘Digital Blackface’

Breaking News

CNN.com posted a bizarre article by John Blake that accused whites who post GIFs or memes of blacks like Tyra Banks or Michael Jordan are engaging in racist behavior. “If you’re Black and you’ve shared such images online, you get a pass. But if you’re White, you may have inadvertently perpetuated one of the most insidious forms of contemporary racism. You may be wearing digital blackface.”

Plus Jon Stewart trashes Republicans on critical race theory on the sleepy Sunday show Fareed Zakaria GPS. Stewart uncorked some classic lazy liberal points, such as “conservatives can’t possibly believe what they say” and “Republicans resort to distortion when they don’t have any governing ideas.” Zakaria could only bow and scrape. There was no challenging voice from the center, let alone the right.

Finally, we have to mock the Facebook speech cops who cripple your messaging with a ruling like “Missing context.” An AP fact checker explained to us that “missing context” can be applied to a Fox News segment without any liberals in it. We had to suggest that AP doesn’t apply that to AP, let alone CNN or MSNBC.
