Man in kilt arrested for allegedly shoving items up his rectum and returning them to shelves at antique stores

Breaking News

A Texas man in a kilt was arrested after several shoppers reported seeing him grab items at two antique stores, shove them into his rectum, and then return them to store shelves.

Harris County Constable Mark Herman said in a post on Facebook that his office heard from several concerned citizens about the kilted man at an antique store on Feb. 15.

Police said they were able to identify the man as Mitchell Cooper Vest and arrested him.

KPRC-TV obtained some of the surveillance video of the man and included it in the report. It shows Vest walking around an antique store before appearing to stick an item under his kilt.

Police said that he was charged with one count of criminal mischief.

The probable cause affidavit identified some of the objects as a makeup brush, an antique bottle opener, a “tobacco tent can,” and a “restoration hardware piece.”

Investigators said Vest allegedly soiled items at two antique stores identified as the Antique Gallery of Houston and the Curiosity Shop, both in the city of Spring.

One of the store owners said that the items allegedly soiled by Vest were valued at a total of $130, while the other owner said the items soiled at their store were valued at $74.

The affidavit said both store owners had to throw away the items because of the fecal matter on them.

“Both provided the video surveillance of the incidents, and both wished to pursue charges,” police said.

Vest was released from the Harris County Jail after paying only a bond of $100.

“I was just really in shock,” said store owner Susan Golden to KPRC. “I just didn’t really know what to say or think.”
