CBS & Daily Caller Team Up to Question KJP & Kirby on Biden Scandals

Breaking News

They say politics makes strange bedfellows. Monday’s White House press briefing held by the always incompetent White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) and National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby proved that when both Daily Caller White House correspondent Diana Glebova and CBS senior White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe asked about the allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a bribery scheme.

Newsmax’s James Rosen was the first to ask a serious question of Kirby, although it wasn’t on the growing Biden bribery scandal. He instead asked about the mixed signals coming out of the Biden administration when it comes to the recent leaks of highly classified documents:

You came to this room, and you pleaded with all of us not to publish this material even if we came into possession of it, presumably because of the damage it would cause. In fact, even in court filings in the ongoing prosecution, federal prosecutors are referring to the great damage caused and the potential for greater damage. And yet we saw President Biden say that there was nothing of great consequence in these leaks. How could that be true?

“Both are true,” Kirby responded. “It was at the very beginning of these disclosures. We didn’t know the full scope of what was out there,” he added.

Rosen continued his line of questioning worthy of an Ivy League lawyer: “How can you tell us that you are not sure that there isn’t more material coming? You have not turned off this spigot even with the arrest of this airman?”

“We can’t say definitively that there couldn’t be more documents out there, James. I wish we could have a different answer to your question,” Kirby answered.

Immediately after, Glebova was called on to ask about the Biden bribery scandal:

As you know, on May 10, they issued a report showing that the Biden family allegedly funneled $10 million into their bank accounts while Joe Biden was Vice President. Members of the committee have said there may be several national security concerns at hand here with their alleged ties to the foreign countries. Admiral, have you read the report yourself? And do you personally think that there are any national security concerns here?

Kirby was dismissive and gave a one-word answer for both parts of Glebova’s question: “No and no.”

Later on, during what WMAL radio host Vince Coglianese refers to as the children’s press briefing hosted by KJP, CNN’s White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond asked about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s comments regarding suicide rates of teen girls.

KJP refused to answer the question and instead lectured Diamond about “the President is going to be very clear that he supports the LGBTQ+ community.”

Next up was Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich’s turn and her question made headlines shortly after it was asked:

And one other one on Nikki Haley. She also said that a vote for President Biden is a vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. What do you say to anyone who is questioning whether the President would survive a full four-year term?

As is usual for her, KJP refused to answer and turned to Biden’s so-called track record as President, which has nothing to do with whether Biden will live out a second term if he’s elected.

Finally, CBS’s Ed O’Keefe closed the circle on Glebova’s initial question from earlier.

“The chairman of the House Oversight Committee says they’re going to vote to hold the FBI Director in contempt on Thursday for withholding documents about some uncorroborated corruption allegations dating back to when the President was Vice President,” O’Keefe asked.

“Does the White House have any comment on the Oversight Committee’s continued focus on this?”

Just like Kirby from earlier in the briefing, KJP refused to adequately answer. Instead, she hid behind the FBI’s statement: “I would have to refer you to the FBI. They’ve actually put out a statement on this, and I would refer you to them.”
