USA Today will stop running ‘Dilbert’ cartoon after racial comments by creator Scott Adams

Breaking News

USA Today announced that it would stop publishing the “Dilbert” cartoon after comments about black people from the creator went viral on social media.

“At @Gannett, we lead with inclusion and strive to maintain a respectful and equitable environment for the diverse communities we serve nationwide,” read the statement from the company that publishes USA Today.

“The USA Today Network will no longer publish the Dilbert comic due to recent discriminatory comments by its creator,” it added.

Scott Adams had become a nationwide trending topic after he said that videos of black people beating white people had convinced him that whites should not help black people or live in communities with a large percentage of black people.

“That’s a hate group and I don’t want to have anything to do with them,” said Adams while citing a poll that said many blacks disagreed with the statement that “It’s OK to be white.”

“And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice i would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people,” he said.

“Just get the f*** away,” Adams added.

“Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This cant be fixed, right. This can’t be fixed. You just have to escape,” he continued.

He went on to say that he took his own advice and moved to an area where there was a “very low black population.” He also said that he was going to stop helping black America because it doesn’t seem to pay off.

“It helps no sense to help black Americans if you’re white,” he concluded.

One video of the comments garnered more than 1.8 million views on Twitter.

However in an interaction with a critic on social media later, Adams appeared to assert that he did not seriously believe what he said about racial relations.

Apart from being a popular cartoonist, Adams previously made headlines when he began praising Donald Trump’s use of language in his successful bid to win the 2016 presidential election.
