On Feb 17, the North Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill banning medical professionals from conducting “gender reassignment surgeries” for minors. This is one of the first states that has made an effort to actually protect the lives of kids who suffer from a delusional sense of self-identity.
According to Just the News, doctors who perform non-medically indicated castrations on minors will be guilty of a Class B felonyand face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine! If doctors prescribe puberty blockers to confused kids, they could be charged with a Class A misdemeanor.
The bill has passed through the state House by a vote of 66-25 and has progressed to the Senate, marking a way to protect kids from the obvious, life-altering detrimental effects of irreversible transgender surgeries and medications. Even so, lefties were pissed at the news.
A Bismarck obstetrician and gynecologist stated, “If these house bills pass, this state becomes a very dangerous place for transgender and gender diverse people. Multiple studies have shown that gender-affirming care is lifesaving. People who receive this care report lifelong improvements in their mental health and a significantly reduced risk of suicide. This is especially noted in patients under the age of 18.”
Multiple studies have shown the incredibly detrimental effects of transgender treatment on children, but let’s just disregard that, I suppose.
ACLU South Dakota Director Janna Farley released a statement expressing how House lawmakers want to intervene and prohibit doctors from “providing life-saving gender affirming healthcare” to North Dakota’s “trans” kids. She also claimed it was apparently unconstitutional to NOT provide kids with treatment that would permanently modify their bodies and change their lives before they’re old enough to buy cigarettes.
It should be counted as a win when kids’ lives are protected from the woke indoctrination of the psycho left that thinks every kid is somehow part of the LGBTQ mob. Feeding a delusional sense of self identity is going to do more harm than good.
