Univision Anchor Slams Biden’s Border Blowoff

Breaking News

Univision’s normally melodramatic coverage of the calamity going on at the nation’s southern border experienced a rare moment of lucidity today when anchor Satcha Pretto, from Univision´s Despierta America, shamed President Joe Biden for his failure to visit the border and “see for himself what was happening” during last week’s public relations trip to Arizona.

“There are many who wonder how it’s possible that although President Biden was there, very close to the border last week, he did not go to see for himself what was happening,” Pretto said to close the 3-minute report by Elyangélica González, effectively becoming the sole Latino journalist to bring up Biden’s total lack of interest in facing the disaster he has created.

ELYANGÉLICA GONZÁLEZ: The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Majorkas is visiting El Paso, Texas, today to review operations and meet with officials from local organizations. There, at the moment, there are more than 5,000 migrants in the processing center that has a capacity for 3,500; There, we can calculate the overcrowding they are experiencing at the moment.

SATCHA PRETTO: There are many who wonder how it’s possible that although President Biden was there, very close to the border last week, he did not go to see for himself what was happening.

The report began with Gonzalez using the word ´chaos´ to “define the situation at the border:

“One word can define what is happening there at the border: precisely chaos,” Gonzalez said. “The same (word) used by a senior Department of Homeland Security official regarding the massive crossing of thousands of migrants that have overwhelmed immigration agencies.” This will only get worse after December 21st, when an even bigger wave of immigrants is expected to arrive with the end of the Title 42 restrictions imposed during the pandemic.

The Univision report also featured liberal media darling Gavin Newsom complaining about the lack of interest of Congress: “We have to reform the immigration system but they don’t talk about it in Congress, they don’t want to know anything about that”. Better to blame others for Biden´s lack of action.

According to the Univision report, “Every day an average of 2,400 people cross the border unauthorized to reach the United States; harrowing images of adults carrying children on their shoulders across the Rio Grande as thousands stand in line waiting for their turn to cross the border.”

For consistency, the Univision news editors also sprinkled the report with migrant sob stories meant to instigate pity from the audience, but which only confirm the inhumanity of the Biden administration that promotes misery, human trafficking, murders, deaths and tragedy among the millions lured by the promise of an open southern border.

Kudos to Satcha Pretto for daring to verbalize what so many others at the Spanish-speaking networks prefer to hide; the lack of sensitivity and inaction of an administration for which America comes last.

SATCHA PRETTO: Well. I want to tell you that this morning we are watching the southern border. Immigration authorities warn that they are at their maximum capacity and the most worrying thing is that as soon as next week another even bigger wave of immigrants will arrive. As Elyangélica González explains, everything has to do with the end of Title 42 restrictions imposed during the pandemic. Ely, good morning. Tell us.

ELYANGÉLICA GONZÁLEZ: My dear Satcha, yes, one word can define what is happening there at the border: precisely chaos. The same (word) used by a senior Department of Homeland Security official regarding the massive crossing of thousands of migrants that have overwhelmed immigration agencies. Take a look.

GONZÁLEZ: Migrants are crossing the border by the thousands and testing the state´s resources.

GAVIN NEWSOM, GOB. CALIFORNIA: People are going to fall through the cracks

GONZÁLEZ: People are going to get trapped, we’re going to see kids sleeping on sidewalks, California Gov. Gavin Newsom says. That state already has one of its border shelters overwhelmed as hundreds of migrants ask for asylum daily.

NEWSOM: It’s an immigration system that has to be reformed

GONZÁLEZ: We have to reform the immigration system but they don’t talk about it in Congress, they don’t want to know anything about that, Newsom claims. Every day an average of 2,400 people cross the border unauthorized to reach the United States, harrowing images of adults carrying children on their shoulders across the Rio Grande as thousands stand in line waiting for their turn to cross the border. Many of them arrived in buses to Ciudad Juárez escorted by the National Guard after being kidnapped.

ÓSCAR SÁNCHEZ, MIGRANT: Every time we passed, they would take us down and then move us to a house, everybody locked up, everyone locked up in the house with armed people. Very bad armed people.

GONZÁLEZ: Shelters in Ciudad Juárez received rivers of people before moving forward.

MORELIA, MIGRANT: Along the way they took a lot of money from us, they left us without any money

GONZÁLEZ: Officials warn that this is just the beginning since this December 21, by order of a judge, the Trump-era policy known as Title 42, that allows the immediate expulsion of immigrants without them being able to request asylum, is expected to come to an end.

JAKE SULLIVAN, NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER: We are talking steps to be able to manage

GONZALEZ: We’re taking steps to manage the termination of Title 42 and put in place an orderly and humane process, explains National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. It seems that for now at least order is impossible.

GONZÁLEZ: The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Majorkas is visiting El Paso, Texas, today to review operations and meet with officials from local organizations. There, at the moment, there are more than 5,000 migrants in the processing center that has a capacity for 3,500; There, we can calculate the overcrowding they are experiencing at the moment.

PRETTO: There are many who wonder how it’s possible that although President Biden was there, very close to the border last week, he did not go to see for himself what was happening.  We´ll follow the development of this story closely. Thank you Elyangélica González for the new details.
