Shortly after the Georgia runoff election was called in favor of Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock late Tuesday night, the conversation during MSNBC’s live election coverage quickly turned to why Republicans once again lost a runoff election in the Peach state. Predictably, chief race-baiter Joy Reid lashed out at any talk that Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp is any different than former President Donald Trump, despite the fact that Kemp was one of Trump’s biggest critics during and after the 2020 elections.
Not to let facts get in the way, Reid smeared Kemp as a “champion vote suppressor” who is no different than Trump who some say is unpopular in the state of Georgia.
“Brian Kemp fundamentally believes that you should restrict drop boxes, you shouldn’t be able to serve people water at the polls,” Reid said dredging up the thoroughly debunked left-wing talking point that it was made illegal to hand water to voters standing in line to vote.

“Brian Kemp and Donald Trump are only different by degrees,” Reid insisted. Asking “is Brian Kemp some sort of champion of democracy? No. Brian Kemp is a champion vote suppressor.”
“He did it when he was secretary of state, you know, engineered that state for himself to become governor, and then they re-engineered it again to make it as hard as possible for anyone who prefers Democrats to vote,” Reid whined.
Reid claimed that “college students had a hell of a time” voting and “some 60,000 voters had their votes challenged in this election.”
“They made it as hard as possible and they still lost,” Reid gloated.
Before her turn on the election night panel was over she had to get in some more racial attacks: “They won’t learn a lesson from it because Brian Kemp agrees with Donald Trump on the fundamental thing. Those people should not be allowed to vote because they don’t vote for me.”
Who are “those people,” Joy? It probably wouldn’t be wise to speculate on what, if anything was going through her head when she made that comment.
The lesson is that, as NewsBusters’ Curtis Houck pointed out on Twitter, it doesn’t matter to the left that Kemp went against Trump in 2020. Nothing is ever enough for them.
