Actress Denise Richards and her husband were the targets of a gunshot during a road rage incident in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday.
reported the incident on Tuesday.
Richards was being driven to Popsicle Studio LA on Monday by her husband Aaron Phypers in their pickup truck when they had trouble finding a parking spot. A driver behind her yelled at them, and although Richards’ husband let the vehicle pass them, when they drove by, someone shot at their truck.
The bullet struck the back end of the truck on the driver’s side, but no one was injured.
The report said Richards was traumatized by the incident and arrived at the studio sobbing. When someone at the studio saw the bullet hole in the truck, they called the police.
The report said Richards and her husband were escorted home by an off-duty police officer at the set once she finished her acting performance at the studio.
TMZ published a photo of the bullet hole in the truck.
Richards commented about the incident from her social media account after some online troll said they wished she had been at least grazed in the neck by the bullet.
“Thank you. I would never wish any harm on anyone,” tweeted Richards.
“What I experienced yesterday with my husband, not that you care. Was the most terrifying situation I have ever been in. I’m sorry a shot didn’t graze my neck…a**hole,” she added.
The trolling tweet was censored by Twitter for violating its rules.
NBC News reported that neither the California Highway Patrol nor the Los Angeles Police Department said that they had any report or investigation related to the road rage incident.
