USMNT Adds Rainbow-Themed Logos To Team Facilities Ahead Of World Cup

Political News

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar about to begin on Sunday, United States soccer fans are gearing up to cheer on the Stars and Stripes as the team strives for soccer’s ultimate prize.

Except, they’re not going to be the Stars and Stripes this tournament. Now, we’ll have to cheer on the LGBT Rainbows instead.

I wish I were kidding.

At the United States practice facility in Doha, the team replaced every piece of team insignia that uses the normal red and white stripes in its crest with rainbow stripes as a show of solidarity with the LGBT community, since Qatar, like many Muslim countries, isn’t as super-enthusiastic about homosexuality as we’re supposed to be.

“As part of our approach for any match or event, we include rainbow branding to support and embrace the LGBTQ community, as well as to promote a spirit of inclusiveness and welcoming to all fans across the globe,” Neil Buethe, the USMNT’s Chief Communications Officer, told the DailyMail.com. “As a result, locations that we will manage and operate at the FIFA World Cup, such as the team hotel, media areas and parties, will feature both traditional and rainbow U.S. Soccer branding.

It’s not enough that gay people already complain that they’re not appreciated enough, but now our very own soccer team is pulling this stunt to support them? As this important video shows, Soccer athletes already struggle to appear manly compared with actual American sports (as they flop at the slightest touch and complain to referees every time there is a call they don’t like), now they are supporting an agenda that celebrates the perversion of manhood.

Thankfully, the uniforms will not have this rainbow-theme on it, but it’s still frustrating that the team added this woke undertone to the narrative of its World Cup pursuit.
