Nets Ignore FBI Admitting Hunter Payments Might Be ‘Malign Foreign Influence’

Political News

On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that payments given to Hunter Biden from China and other countries could be considered a “malign foreign influence” campaign. On Thursday night, all three evening network broadcasts ignored this admission from the FBI Director. Only Fox News Channel’s Special Report covered Wray’s comments.

Instead of reporting on this admission from FBI Director Wray about Hunter Biden, ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News decided to waste valuable airtime on the August heatwave in parts of the United States (CBS & NBC), a volcano in Iceland, and a baby Hippo being born in a local zoo (ABC).

On Special Report, correspondent David Spunt reported on the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing: “Moments into the hearing, Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley pressed Wray on the federal investigation into the President’s son. Hunter Biden has not been charged with a crime, but his tax affairs and business dealings overseas are part of a grand jury probe. Grassley gave Wray a hypothetical.”

Spunt then aired an exchange between Grassley and Wray:

GRASSLEY: If the FBI received information that foreign persons had evidence of improper or unlawful financial payments paid to elected officials or other politically exposed persons, would that pose a national security concern?

WRAY: The kind of conduct you’re describing is typically something that we would look at very closely through our efforts at malign foreign influence.

He then ended his report by noting “on allegations from whistleblowers, who claim agents suppressed negative information about Hunter Biden without offering specifics, Wray condemned whistle-blower retaliation.”

This bias by omission from the three networks was made possible by Liberty Mutual on ABC, Allstate on CBS, and Progressive on NBC. Their information is linked so you can let them know about the biased news they fund.

SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY: If the FBI received information that foreign persons had evidence of improper or unlawful financial payments paid to elected officials or other politically exposed persons, would that pose a national security concern?

CHRISTOPHER WRAY (FBI DIRECTOR): The kind of conduct you’re describing is typically something that we would look at very closely through our efforts at malign foreign influence.

SPUNT: On allegations from whistleblowers, who claim agents suppressed negative information about Hunter Biden without offering specifics, Wray condemned whistle-blower retaliation. Wray also addressed what he calls the top national security threat. He says the bureau opens an investigation into China on average every 12 hours.

WRAY: This is a problem of massive, massive scale, and to some extent as a country, we’re playing catch up on the threat.
