Reid, Lemon Cry ‘Insurrectionist Grift’ Over Hawley Selling Coffee Mugs

Breaking News

Further proving how everything the leftist media doesn’t like is an “insurrection” or “January 6“, two of the most buffoonish cable news hosts Joy Reid and Don Lemon had a meltdown over Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley selling coffee mugs for his reelection campaign with a picture of him posing triumphantly with his fist in the air.

Reid was the first one to have a meltdown over Hawley’s fundraising gimmick with the always vile MSNBC host freaking out at the end of her show The ReidOut that Hawley is “trying his hand at insurrectionist grift.”

Reid continued to dig in by falsely claiming that since Hawley was “not content to just be the face of sedition egging on the January 6th rioters” by pumping his fist in the air as he walked by protesters before the riots started at the Capitol on January 6, that he was “now trying to cash in.”

Carrying on in her temper tantrum over coffee mugs, Reid said that “it’s fitting that triggering the libs would be the campaign promise from the Senator” before smearing Hawley by alleging he was “proudly owning the violence he instigated that day.”

Three hours later, on CNN’s Don Lemon Tonight, host Don Lemon also acted outraged that Hawley would dare sell coffee mugs, whining at the end of his show: “Republican Senator Josh Hawley is taking the image of his first pump to pro-Trump demonstrators outside the Capitol hours before the January 6 insurrection. Slapping it on campaign merch.”

Lemon explained to his dwindling audience that for “$20 supporters can purchase the ‘show me strong’ white coffee mug” which is a play-off of Hawley’s home state’s motto the “The Show-Me State.”

“So for everyone at home, a reminder of what he showed us that day,” Lemon wailed. ”He was one of 147 Republicans to object to the 2020 election results even though there is zero proof of fraud.”

Reid and Lemon are too dense to understand that Hawley isn’t selling mugs to support an “insurrection”. He even said as much. “It is not a pro-riot mug,” Hawley said in a statement according to The Hill

“At the time that we were out there, folks were gathered peacefully to protest, and they have a right to do that.” But as usual, Reid and Lemon don’t let the truth get in the way of their narrative.

JOY REID: Missouri’s Republican Senator, Josh Hawley, is trying his hand at insurrectionist grift. Not content to just be the face of sedition egging on the January 6th rioters with his fist pump that day, the Hawley campaign is now trying to cash in. Selling coffee mugs featuring the image and the words, show me strong. A bad play on the state’s official motto that also kind of sounds like a plea to the lord. Please, show me strong. In a campaign email advertising his new cool nick-nack, the mug is described as made in America and quote, the perfect way to enjoy coffee, tea, or liberal tears. Tip your waiter. It’s fitting that triggering the libs would be the campaign promise from the Senator. Apparently — proudly owning the violence he instigated that day which has now officially been declared legitimate political discourse by the GQP. He told the Washington Post last year that he had no regrets because, as he put it, some of them were just there to protest. He even claimed that it was mean to put everyone in the same bucket just because they chanted hang Mike Pence, calling it a slur.

DON LEMON: So take this, Republican Senator Josh Hawley is taking the image of his first pump to pro-Trump demonstrators outside the Capitol hours before the January 6 insurrection. Slapping it on campaign merch. For $20 supporters can purchase the “show me strong” white coffee mug. Hawley’s home state of Missouri is known as the show me state. So for everyone at home, a reminder of what he showed us that day. He was one of 147 Republicans to object to the 2020 election results even though there is zero proof of fraud. And remember, Republican fellow Republican Mitt Romney stared daggers right at Hawley during his objection speech I would say it’s disappointing for Senator Hawley to now glorify his actions and objections that day with a souvenir mug. But it is more than that. It’s calculated. The Senator is digging in on the big lie to maintain his political support. He can use the mug money to keep his campaign going. And he just might need it. Right after January 6, a top donor to Hawley called him out as a political opportunist and called for his censure. Hawley’s one-time mentor former GOP Senator John Danforth said supporting him and I quote here, was the worst mistake of my life.
