Oh Please! ABC Spins Kamala Harris as ‘Clear,’ ‘Blunt,’ ‘Direct’ Border Hawk

Political News

Get ready for the new spin from the corrupt network media: Kamala Harris, border hawk! After burying the ongoing crisis, ABC and CBS on Tuesday laughably morphed the Vice President into a “clear,” “blunt,” “direct” tough talker when it comes to the emergency. Only NBC offered a different take, shocking viewers by calling out Harris’s lie that “we’ve” been to the border.

Over on Good Morning America, the new talking points are that the Vice President is really serious about stopping illegal immigration. Co-host Robin Roberts tried to flip the sprawling disaster for the administration: “Vice President Kamala Harris on her first international trip since taking office with a clear message for anyone looking to illegally cross the border.”

Co-host George Stephanopoulos touted, “[Harris has] been tasked by President Biden to help reduce the flow of migrants to the border and sending a blunt message: ‘Do not come.’” Reporter Cecilia Vega spouted the same talking points: “On her first foreign trip as Vice President Kamala Harris issuing a direct warning to anyone considering making the illegal journey north.”

Get it? The Biden/Harris administration is tough and going to stop illegal immigration.  At least Vega hinted at the obvious absurdity of this stance: “Tapped by the President to tackle the root causes of migration as illegal crossings at the southern border reach nearly 750,000 people, levels not seen in decades.”

Yet Vega spent some of the segment talking about Donald Trump… who is not actually president. She chided, “This as the Biden administration is still investigating the fallout from former President Trump’s immigration policies…. This report says the government to this day still does not know the whereabouts of nearly 400 separated under that Trump controversial policy at the border.”

Over on CBS This Morning, Ed O’Keefe echoed the new Democrat talking points about the suddenly tough Harris:

O’KEEFE: Vice president Kamala Harris arrived in Mexico last night before arriving she said the focus is bolstering a partnership with next door neighbors. Harris is beginning the trip a tour that included a stern warning to would-be illegal migrants.

HARRIS: Do not come. Do not come.

O’KEEFE: Hoping to alleviate poverty and crime that drive many to make the trek north, the Biden administration is committed more than $300 million to the region.

Only NBC’s Today hammered Harris with Lester Holt calling out her lies that “we’ve” been to the border. (She hasn’t.)

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We’re going to Vice President Kamala Harris this morning in Mexico on her first foreign mission as vice president. She’s been tasked by president Biden to help reduce the flow of migrants to the border and sending a blunt message: “Do not come.” Chief White House correspondent Cecilia Vega has the latest. Good morning, Cecilia.

CECILIA VEGA: Hi, George, good morning to you. Mexico today. Guatemala yesterday and standing next to Guatemala’s president when she says she will root out corruption wherever it exists and that her number one priority is addressing root causes that people are fleeing their homes. On her first foreign trip as Vice President Kamala Harris issuing a direct warning to anyone considering making the illegal journey north.

KAMALA HARRIS: Do not come. Do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border.

VEGA: Tapped by the President to tackle the root causes of migration as illegal crossings at the southern border reach nearly 750,000 people, levels not seen in decades. The vice president there alongside Guatemala’s president promising the U.S. Will help tamp down on violence and corruption which could take years.

HARRIS: If you come to our border, you will be turned back.

VEGA: This as the Biden administration is still investigating the fallout from former President Trump’s immigration policies. According to a new report out this morning more than 3900 children were separated from their families under Trump’s controversial zero tolerance policy. And to this day, more than 2,000 kids still have not been reunited. And just 58 are currently in the process of being reconnected with their families. Families like these, now seeing each other for the first time in years. Now, those 3900 children identified in that report is far below the 5500 identified by the ACLU. The administration says it is reviewing additional cases but George, listen to this. This report says the government to this day still does not know the whereabouts of nearly 400 separated under that Trump controversial policy at the border.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Just unacceptable. Okay, Cecilia.
