Hunter Biden Book Is a Bust Despite All the Media Hype

Political News

Despite a plethora of media hype that most authors could only dream about including a “catharsis” with Anthony Mason on CBS This Morning and laptop laughter with Jimmy Kimmel, his recently published memoir has turned out to be a big fat bust. Just how big of a bust? Well, on Thursday, Showbiz411 had this sad report:

Beautiful Things, the confessional memoir by Presidential ne’er do well son Hunter Biden is a flop after one week.

NPD Book Scan says the book, in Hunter whines about being a drug addict who slept around and has no memory of fathering a child, has sold just 10,000 copies in its first week. For a celebrity book with so much PR, TV appearances, etc, that’s not a lot.

On Amazon, Beautiful Things is ranked at number 130 now 177, now 208.

It’s hovering Sunday morning at Amazon around #50,000. It was #12 on the Publishers Weekly list, and somehow #4 on the New York Times “Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction” list. They described the book as “The lawyer and artist, who is the son of the current president, details tragedies within his family and his path to sobriety.” The New York Post dismissed it as a “whitewash.”

Showbiz 411 concluded “Last week, Rock Me on the Water, a terrible book about cultural trends in 1974, hit the [Times] list after its Sunday Morning plug. It’s gone this week.”
