The Hill Scaremongers on Black Gun Ownership

Political News

Gun ownership continues to soar in the United States. A good part of that growth is driven by first-time owners, women, and minorities. In a story on the trend, The Hill offers a number of evidence-free assumptions about why it’s happening, making it sound as if the hundreds of thousands of black gun owners are “armed social justice advocates.”

And look at this picture:

Rather than focus on an average gun owner, someone like Shelly Parker — an African-American woman who, after drug dealers in her neighborhood began vandalizing her property and threatening her life, became one of the driving forces in the case that would become District of Columbia v. HellerThe Hill offers a picture of black militia members and tells the story of small groups like the “Not F***ing Around Coalition.” Now, large or small, I have zero problem with Americans assembling with their AR-15s to protect their rights. I can assure you, though, that the vast majority of gun owners, white and black, do not generally march around in pseudo-military garb. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard gun restrictionists claim that if African Americans owned firearms in large numbers, conservatives would quickly turn on the Second Amendment. Yet, all gun advocates I see cheer it on. It seems to me that others are doing the scaremongering.

  1. Buying a gun doesn’t make you a gunfighter any more than buying a guitar makes you a guitar player.
I’ve never met a liberal Marine, soldier, sailor or airman, and most of the ones I know are shooters. They own multiple guns that they shoot well and they’ve been buying ammo since 1970. Have you considered how many veterans there are in this country?
They love this country and our constitution and they all took the oath to “protect and defend the constituion against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. That would be you.
Joining a group of amateurs with guns who want to burn businesses to force their opinions on other people makes you part of a racist group of criminals.

  2. Yeah there’s a few videos floating around YT about those idiots. If they weren’t so entertaining, they would be sad. Or scary? Depends on how you lean. I encourage all to look them up. Good for a few laughs.

  3. If I owned a rifle, it would be a SD-15 (Self Defense). I think the makers of the AR style weapons should change their designations to a SD reference and make the liberals have to rethink their next lies to call these hunting rifles. Armalite Rifles and Colt have taken enough of a beating from these liars and poorly educated fools!

  4. Yes, to all above!
Estimates vary but 30M American men and women gun owners, including non-citizen residents who do not own guns, would step forward to defend The Constitution & Bill of Rights. This is inclusive of Americans from every race, religion and ethnicity. England (UK) has been wrestling with Clause 29 (look it up) of the Magna Carta for 800 years for good reason (Common Law). Thank God we have our justification.

  5. What is this another story to try and divide Americans? let me tell you fools something I have no issues with an armed black community I have served with men of all colors and races and loved them all like brothers we all bled red. In fact I think that if more guns were in the hand of the right people in places like Detroit instead of just the hands of the criminal element you’d see those places start to turn around
