Georgia Republicans want Coca-Cola products removed from their offices after CEO criticizes new voting law

Breaking News

A group of Republican legislators in Georgia want Coca-Cola products removed from their offices after the company’s CEO criticized the new election reforms signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp (R).

In a letter addressed to Kevin Perry, the president and CEO of the Georgia Beverage Association, eight lawmakers from the state House on Saturday accused the Coca-Cola company of spreading misinformation about Georgia elections law and caving to “out of control cancel culture.”

“Your company has made the conscious decision to perpetrate a national dialogue which seeks to intentionally mislead the citizens of Georgia and deepen a divide in our great State,” the lawmakers wrote. “We have the responsibility to all of Georgia not to engage in those misguided intentions nor continue to support corporations who choose to.”

The letter was signed by GOP state Reps. Victor Anderson, Clint Crowe, Matt Barton, Jason Ridley, Lauren McDonald III, Stan Gunter, Dewayne Hill, and Marcus Wiedower.

On March 25, Gov. Kemp signed a sweeping election reform bill into law that would require absentee ballots to be verified with a photo ID and expand early voting for primary and general elections, among other changes. Democrats including President Joe Biden and failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams have claimed the new law will make it harder for people to vote, particularly minorities and working-class Georgians. Biden falsely claimed that the new law “ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over,” a claim refuted by experts who note the law does not change Election Day voting hours and actually expands opportunities to vote early.

Republicans have also faced backlash over the law from several corporations, including Coca-Cola, and prominently the Major League Baseball Association, which pulled its All-Star Game out of the state because of the new law.

Last week, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincy told CNBC the law was “unacceptable.” He released a statement on behalf of the Coca-Cola Company “to be crystal clear and state unambiguously that we are disappointed in the outcome of the Georgia voting legislation.”

Quincy asserted that some measures of the bill “would diminish or deter access to voting.”

“Given Coke’s choice to cave to the pressure of an out of control cancel culture, we respectfully request all Coca-Cola Company products be removed from our office suite immediately.” the lawmakers wrote in response. “Should Coke chose to read the bill, share its true intentions and accept their role in the dissemination of mistruths, we would welcome a conversation to rebuild a working relationship.”

  1. Coke really should be illegal. How many people have become sick with diabetes or obesity from coke! Really no different than cigarettes. Impose extreme regulation or better yet just shut them down!

      1. Have you ever taken an unbiased look at your Demoncrap party? Not only are they obese, they are generally train wrecks to look at! AOC, Omar, Pelosi, Schumer, Abrams, Cuomo (any of them), etc. For crying out loud, give our eye a break! Guess it’s just the ugly coming out. And what’s with the “white” term used? Are you a racist? I’m guessing BLM or Antifa. Doesn’t it get tedious constantly blaming others for the failures of a race? Everyone is responsible for their failures except them. Coke has sold out and caved. I hope their new machines in “the hoods” don’t get broken into or damaged. I couldn’t bear it! Pepsi: Drink of the free patriots. That has a nice ring to it. Sorry to interrupt you, go back to your communist meetings, rioting and looting.

    1. Thanks David for the heads up. I am no longer drinking Coke, and will find out about about their other products and will boycott them to. We here are in a USA AUTO CLUB and will send this memo out to many Thousand of members.
      Willybob ~!~ BOBBY

    2. The fact is, Coca Cola years ago put out their product with trace amounts of Cocaine in it which caused people to unknowingly become addicted to their drink. It was only after people found out about it not that long ago that Coke finally decide to remove Cocaine from their formula.

      1. And THAT ladies and gentlemen could be the answer to: what makes people constantly drink the Coke Company Kool-Aid. Imagine THAT! A company who prays on it’s naïve clientele, supports terrorists, rails against freedom and believes in propaganda money making efforts aligning with the Demoncraps. Who’da thunk it????

    1. Of course not. It was made by a Republican, so it is “obviously” designed to be racist, hateful, spiteful and destructive to their corrupt power base. Didn’t you know that?

If they’d actually read it, they would have realized it would be fair and impartial, another thing they actually don’t want.

They want to control who votes and how. This includes letting pets and dead people vote. Florida had a ballot sent out to a CAT. Not just a CAT, but one that had been dead for a decade. Just one such example.

      1. All voting should be in person with a proper ID. Mail-in ballots should be ONLY for our military personnel that is totally out of the U.S. and in a foreign country and no one else !!

  2. Let’s play the left’s game;
    Boycott all Coca Cola products!
    Please someone make a list
of Coke products and publish that list. Maybe Coke will get “woke” !

    1. Some of the more popular Coke products include Sprite, Fanta, Dasani Water, Schweppes, Fresca and Minute Maid Juices.

  3. Coke. As well as many other companies are afraid to stand for truth. It is a sad truth of America. The left is trying to destroy America and everything it stands for by intimidation and lies. I keep up with those companies and no longer buy any of their products or services. I also only buy American made or not at all.

  4. Coca Cola has been a communist party member for years. I wonder what the old man in Omaha and his jerk buddy think about this. You will never see a Coke prodoct around me FOREVER!

  5. i will admit that i loved coke. i wouldnt hit a monkey in the butt with a pepsi. after coke put out the whiteness memo i decided no more cokes. 7-up is actually pretty good. this just further strengthens my resolve against coke. i have to add this though. i dont boycott because that implies i would go back to coke if my demmands were met. well, no boycotting because i have no demands. if they did that crap once they would do it again. so no longer any coke products at all. if everyone just quit cokes, and it would be hard because their product list is long, maybe the cancel culture will keep the coke business afloat but i doubt it. i think they will find that although cancel culture is loud, its only about 2% of the population. these big corporations need to be taught it better to piss off 2 million people than piss off 75 million people.

    1. Bravo, Jay……well said !!! Corporations…..get the hell out of politics !!! No one cares what you think !

    2. I hope that Georgia bans Coke. Think about it. Think about the millions of people in Georgia who buy Coke Products. Think about the REVENUE Coke would lose over this. Yes, some would simply buy from out of state or the like, but I think most would realize the cost was prohibitive and simply switch to other brands. “Go Woke, Go Broke.” as they say.

It should also be an eye opener for those who like Soda. Almost ALL brands of Soda these days are owned by either Coca Cola or Pepsi Cola. Both of which have gone Cancel Culture happy, Woke, and Liberal. That should be a lesson to what happens when we let such industries devolve into “red” vs “blue”.

And even many of the independent soda companies are distributed by Coke or Pepsi.

  6. Amen to all of the comments! I quit coke long ago, did not like what it does to stomachs or even porcelain. I’ll watch out now for all the other coke Co products. One of these days these companies will realize they are a business to make money for their stock holders and not a political entity. Just like Hollywood, who cares what an actor thinks? They are no smarter ( most of the time much less than) the average citizen. That says a lot too since our education system has been dumbing down for decades.

    1. The GOP and Republican elected officials should show their real displeasure by refusing to accept any contributions from Coca-Cola, and by returning the millions they have already received. It is dirty money.

      1. It has been spent, much of it on minority businesses. Atlanta is 51 percent black. MLB is hurting them too.

  7. The Republican Party and elected officials should refuse to accept any contributions from Coca-Cola and other corporations, and return previous donations to these left wing companies.

  8. It’s about time the Republicans started to play the same game that the Democrats have been playing for years. Now they need to call them racists as well. The truth is that the Democrats are the true racists and have been since blacks came to this country.

  9. I strongly believe that Coca Cola is racist company!
    Think about it:
They dare to put Black beverage in White bottle with a Red communist China label.
We should demand to make the appropriate changes immediately or they will be banned from all governmental offices and all army stores..

  10. Not just coca cola folks. Quit flying on Delta airlines. Quit using google. get a new search engine they sell your info anyway. We’ve got to pushback against all these corporate cornholes. Check the list, there about twenty corporations that are in on the “woke” bandwagon, that are more then happy to assist the Government in imposing socialism on the people. crush them out of existence.

  11. At Jesse Black’s are not asking you for nothing because a scumbag Like you don’t know any better than to think like you do you should blame your dumb ex-President because he couldn’t and win he just got his ass kick so don’t hate all you losers Trump lovers and Coca Cola stop lying.

    1. What in all of creation are you talking about you psycho? How about you learn to type and do a little something we sane people call “proof read?” There is also this punctuation in English that is called a “period”. It’s perfect for stopping sentences that last forever. Now as far as Blacks asking for nothing? Conservatives who happen to be “black” are the only blacks NOT asking for something other than a chance and peace. Let me clarify this discussion for you: 1. Trump didn’t win because the communist left, which you are apparently a member of, stole the election. 2. Only an uneducated ass clown would say he “got his ass kick” (sic). He had the election STOLEN from him! I’m SURE you understand the concept of “stolen”. 3. Communists’ “hate”. Conservatives dislike something and within the scope of the law, change it. 4. Coke is NOT lying. They are openly hostile to freedom and have been for a long time. Now, because of the current leadership vacuum in Washington, the talking heads at Coke think they can assist in imposing the communist will on we patriots. The only thing that I can even imagine that is worse than your writing would be your speaking. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

  12. It has been spent, much of it on minority businesses. Atlanta is 51 percent black. MLB is hurting them too.

  13. What do you expect this is a company when they first came out actually put cocaine in their soda hoping to get people to not only buy it but need it. Go ahead google it that is 100% true while we are at it Coke is the worse soda on the market health wise. If you spill some coke on your car and don’t wipe it off right away it will take the paint off the car. It is unknown how many Americans have diabetes or other health condition from drinking Coke Cola. If their CEO wants to make a statement how about why his product does not have a warning label on it again if you think i am kidding google the damage Coke a Cola does to the human body or just ask your primary. I was surprised when my primary told me he was so happy i did not drink soda he told me to cut back on my coffee but if it was a choice between coffee and Coke Cola he would pick coffee every time this includes my nutrient expert i was given. To this day we still don’t have a definite answer if diet coke with the sugar subsititues cause cancer again google it there are a lot of articles but none clearing them 100% so having to show and ID to get into the building where politicians work, social security, to buy beer, to buy cigarettes etc.. If all of those and more are okay and not bias or prejudice then how on earth is it for voting ? Oh by the way the people not working get a free ID from welfare or social security to get food stamps etc.. these ID’s are acceptable in Georgia to vote. Oh and one more question how do all these people cash a check without and ID Oh they use and ID sounds like Coke’s CEO might be using the stuff they used to put in the soda.
