Eric Swalwell is back and this time he has filed a lawsuit in yet another doomed-to-fail bombshell attempt he believes will finally ‘take down’ former President Donald Trump! First there was a failed impeachment attempt, then a second, and now Eric Swalwell (D-CA), best known for having sex with a Chinese spy and farting during an on-camera interview, is still trying to pin the January 6 Capitol riots on former President Donald Trump. How is Dexter doing it this time? By filing a lawsuit today against president Trump, Donald Trump Jr., attorney Rudy Giuliani, and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) accusing them of inciting the assault on the Capitol building.
Swalwell is alleging Trump and his allies that spoke at a rally at the White House are responsible for persuading thousands of Trump supporters to march on the Capitol building with the intent to engage in violent activities. The ‘complaint’ claims Trump’s rhetoric before and during the incident “made clear he poses a risk of inciting future political violence.”
“As a direct and foreseeable consequence of the Defendants’ false and incendiary allegations of fraud and theft, and in direct response to the Defendants’ express calls for violence at the rally, a violent mob attacked the U.S. Capitol,” the suit argued. “Many participants in the attack have since revealed that they were acting on what they believed to be former president Trump’s orders in service of their country.”
The Washington Post reported:
The lawsuit claims the four speakers violated the Reconstruction-era Ku Klux Klan Act by conspiring to violently interfere in Congress’s constitutional duties and failing to act to stop the mob. It also accuses them of multiple counts of negligence under both federal and D.C. law, aiding and abetting, and infliction of emotional distress.
Trump spokesman Jason Miller issued a statement responding to Swalwell’s accusations. “Eric Swalwell is a lowlife with no credibility.”
He continued rightly criticizing Swalwell during a conversation with ABC News. “After failing miserably with two impeachment hoaxes, [Swalwell is] attacking our greatest President with yet another witch hunt,” he said. “It’s a disgrace that a compromised Member of Congress like Swalwell still sits on the House Intelligence Committee.”
The lawsuit, which unbelievably has 65 pages, is the latest and pathetic attempt by the Democratic Party to blame the former president and his allies for the riots that cold day this past January. Naturally, the media will carry the weight of this giving it the coverage it doesn’t deserve. Moreover, they’ll lay blame equally at the feet of his supporters pining the guilt of those who stormed the building on 75+ million people.
Swalwell isn’t alone in this pathetic attempt to use the riots to engage in lawfare against Trump. The Post noted:
The NAACP last month sued Trump, Giuliani and two extremist groups whose members have been accused of leading the violence at the Capitol — the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers — on behalf of Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.). Guiliani, Trump’s campaign and others also face defamation claims related to their groundless post-election criticism of a former U.S. election cybersecurity official and vote counting machine maker.
Democrats’ pathetic attempts to remove Trump from office has continued to fuel their Trump Derangement Syndrome fires despite the fact the former president is now a private citizen. However, they seem to think they can use the legal system to punish him for a crime he obviously didn’t commit.
If the legitimate and dozens of post-election lawsuits didn’t have standing to be heard, this lawsuit brought by Swalwell and his TDS afflicted cohorts is doomed. Trump never directly called for violence! What this pathetic play is designed to do is keep this dreadful day in the spotlight to detract from the numerous issues currently plaguing the party, the Biden administration, and the stench the American people are smelling as the media is actually forced to cover it all!
It is the same reason why they wish to keep 5,000 National Guard troops stationed at the Capitol despite knowing the threat was over a long time ago. But if they believe that using the legal system to propagandize the public will help their cause, they might be in for a rude awakening.
Nobody actually believes that the nation is in for a series of vicious terrorist attacks carried out by Trump supporters. They will never get anyone to believe that people on the right will stage multiple riots over a three-month period like Antifa and Black Lives Matter did during the ‘Summer of Love’ last year. In the end, this smear campaign will amount to a whole lot of nothing.
